As the title says, it is official - Hailey is 2 today! She was pretty excited this morning. If you asked her how old she was, she would yell "TWO!" I made some cupcakes for her daycare class, so she got to eat those, and Taylor even got to go in and have one with her. We then had some neighbors over for cake and gifts tonight. My "Dora" cake fell a little short, but only because I ran out of time (or at least I would like to think that). I think it is a fairly good likeness of her face at least. It is a little difficult to work longer tax season hours, and then decide to bake 2 dozen cupcakes and a two-layer cake in the middle of the week, leaving the actual cake decorating until 10 minutes before people are to arrive. Oh well - tasted all the same. There will be more pictures to come from this coming weekend.
Hailey also had her two-year check-up today - nothing like hitting that one dead on. She is 27.4 lbs and 34 inches tall. Our doctor was pretty impressed that she strings sentences together. He asked if she talked much, and my response was, "yes, if she can get a word in edgewise with her sister." He also asked if she had shown any interest in using the potty - he clearly isn't in touch with the deeply rooted, over-achiever, Megan gene. Needless to say he was also impressed that she was pretty close to being potty trained.
