Coeur D'Alene, ID/Spokane, WA trip

As many of you know, Shawn had some work this past week in N Idaho/Washington, so the girls and I thought it would be a perfect time to go with him and see that part of the country. Boy is it gorgeous! The pictures just don't do it justice. There is so much fun, nature type stuff to do and we tried to do it all!

A quick run down of the order of the pictures and our trip. On Father's Day we headed to Spokane, WA to check it out. We ended up at Riverfront Park where we spent a good deal of time walking around, etc. The girls and I then did quite a few activities while Shawn was working during the week. We did a little shopping, hiked at Tubbs Hill, and played at Ft. Sherman (all of which were in Coeur D'Alene). The one night after work we all hiked around Post Falls (the hotel we were in was just up the road from this park).

The girls and I then scootered along the river at Riverstone Park, waded in Lake Coeur D'Alene, and swam at the hotel beach. One of the other evenings we all went back to Tubbs Hill and showed Shawn all the scenery and trails there. It is a gorgeous little peninsula park right in Coeur D'Alene. It has a bunch of beaches you can hike in to! We would have loved to have been able to spend more time there!

The weather turned a little warmer, so while Shawn was busy working, the girls and I spent the day at the Coeur D'Alene city beach. The scenery was beautiful, but the water was a little chilly! Wading up to mid-calf was all that was necessary to cool one off! The only individuals actually swimming were all the competitors getting ready for the Ironman competition which was to be held the coming Sunday. While at the beach I snapped a picture of Tubbs Hill. We unintentionally hiked to the top of this hill when were there with Shawn - it was a pretty steep climb!

We wrapped the week up with all of us taking a drive up to Mt. Spokane state park where we were able to get some amazing pictures of the entire Spokane Valley.

On the way back to Havre we went further N through Idaho and stopped for lunch at Lake Pend Oreilles - another gorgeous spot. We then caught a cool picture of the Moyie River near the ID/MT border and hiked around the Kootenai river falls where we crossed a swinging bridge.

In addition to the outdoor activities we did on the trip, we also had a chance to take the girls to two movies. We saw Madagascar 3 in 3D, and caught a showing of Brave on the way home with a stop over in Kalispell. Both of the movies were super cute. I don't know what was more fun, watching the movies or listening to the girls giggle and laugh!

As you can see it was a pretty full week. We were all a little sad to have to come back home, but were excited to see the dogs, whom we missed quite a bit too! Next up is N WI, so I know there will be lots of pictures to share from that too!
