It is hard to believe that our little baby is 5 years old! She was soooo excited to turn 5. We again gave her the option of what she wanted to do for her birthday, and this year she chose to have a "friends" party.
Despite my better efforts to convince her otherwise, she wanted to have the party here at the house. She decided on a puppy dog theme, and chose pink poodle cupcakes for her birthday cake. The flavor of cupcakes were pink lemonade with a pink lemonade frosting. Needless to say they were a hit. Hailey had a lot of fun with her friends and got a lot of nice things. (She still wears one of the headbands that she was given, every day - she LOVES it!).
She was very excited that her birthday fell on Easter this year; however, I think we are going to have a hard time explaining to her next year why it may NOT be on Easter! The Easter bunny brought her a nice note, and she again got a lot of nice presents.
Now that she is 5, she got a "big girl" necklace from Shawn and I, as well as a new bike. (She is growing so fast she outgrew her other one, and she rides it almost daily!).
Thankfully she opted not to have more cupcakes, or a cake for her "real" birthday, and instead chose a french peach pie. She liked it and ate it for breakfast for several days after! The pie was topped with a number 5 sparkler (a little hard to get a close picture next to!).
All in all I think it was a memorable birthday for her, and we just can't believe she is growing so fast! Where does the time go?!!!!
