What did you just say?!!

So those of you have had the pleasure of spending any small amount of time with either of the girls know that they are smart little cookies, and a little bit of a handful.  We were excited for our family trip to WI, but also a little apprehensive about how the girls might behave on such a long drive and a whirlwind trip all over the state.  They made us very proud, and behaved excellently the entire time - following directions, eating well, sleeping when they should, playing nice, etc.  Shawn and I were sure to tell them numerous times just how proud we were of them.  That was all good and great - but short lived.

The following weekend back home they decided to make up for their stint of good behavior.  They were constantly picking at eachother, not listening to a word either of us said, and generally behaving unruly.  While we were trying to get them loaded in the car for a trip in to town - Shawn was struggling with Hailey throwing a temper-tantrum, and Taylor was getting mouthy for about the fifth time that day -  I finally just told them that we had had enough and that they knew how to behave better than this, and needed to start listening, etc., etc.  Taylor, being the spokesperson for the two, decided to set me straight letting me know, "Well, we were behaved for you all last week on our vacation.  And we did a very good job of listening to you and following directions.  So we don't need to do that for awhile now, since we did such a good job last week."  That sounded like a fair explanation to her!  Love the logical thinking, too bad it is a little faulty!  Gotta love them!
