Fishing and More!

Well we had another break in the rain, so we again decided to take advantage of it and head out to Beaver Creek Park. Shawn got the girls fishing rods all set-up and we went fishing. With all of the rain and flooding that we have had the water was just too muddy and murky to get anything more than a few nibbles, but the girls liked it anyways. Of course all they really wanted to do was reel in their line, so Shawn got some good practice at casting! Hailey did get a pretty good bite at one point, but she was too distracted with putting the tip of her rod in the water that she completely missed it! Oh well.

We brought Maggie along for the fun and she enjoyed herself sniffing all over and chewing on sticks, etc. After the girls had their fill of fishing we walked up the road a ways to look at the pretty scenery. We then hopped in the truck and drove further in to the park. It is amazing how much water there is! What was Beaver Creek is now a raging river that has flooded out several campgrounds and roads. We went fairly far in to the park, but then decided to turn around instead of crossing a section of road that had water over it. It is always deeper than it initially appears. All in all it was a nice afternoon!
