We decided to take another extended weekend to what is becoming one of our favorite places in Montana - the Glacier area! We rented a cabin for the weekend and took in the various holiday celebrations in the surrounding areas. It was a blast and possibly a new holiday tradition?!!!
The girls were super excited to see Santa, and Shawn and I just wanted to take in all of the beautiful scenery. Unfortunately there was not quite enough snow for sledding, or a sleigh ride, but maybe next time (which I am told will be in January sometime!).
Our first stop was in Whitefish, where we were able to see Santa (for the first time). First we drove up Whitefish Mountain and took in the view from up there. It was gorgeous. We then explored around Whitefish Lake and had to take a picture of our retirement motivation (notice the beautiful house in the valley with the mountain view). It was then on to Whitefish.
They had the whole main street blocked off and decorated. All of the area businesses came out with displays, there were fires to warm yourself on each corner, and carolers competing for honors. Santa made an appearance as well. Prior to his official entrance, we spotted him walking down the street. Hailey must have stalked him for about half a block before we were able to get his attention! She was not about to let him get away! Notice the picture with the SUPER excited girls' faces!
We then timed it just perfect and made it to the end of the street just as Santa was getting on the horse-drawn wagon ride to make his official entrance. We were able to hop on - it was great!
The weekend was finished off with a visit to Big Fork for some of their decorations and another visit with Santa! The cabin we stayed at was great, and we all had a blast! Just one more awesome family memory!
