Although we miss the beauty of Montana, there are definitely some perks to being back in the Midwest. Family is definitely one of those perks, as is snow. I know that this is completely crazy to say, seeing as how it has been a VERY LONG winter, but keep in mind that we have not lived in an area that has had lasting snow on the ground for almost 7 years (snow that falls and then melts within a week does not count). We are probably pretty sick for admitting it, but we have all really enjoyed the winter!
Not only did the girls get to enjoy a lot of snow at our house here in IL, but they also got to see the "mother of all snow accumulations" up in Northern WI. Shawn and I took the kids up to Minocqua for the weekend to see what "real" winter is. We all felt like kids again building snow tunnels and a quincy, having snow ball fights, and playing king on the mountain. Fun was had by all!
