Shawn found a candy shop in town that sells, amongst other things, suckers with crickets, worms, scorpions, etc in them. So Shawn being Shawn, he had to get two for the girls. Taylor was not at all interested in hers, but as you could guess, after about a day of thinking about it Hailey tried hers.
She did pretty good in the beginning. The sucker was blueberry and actually smelled really good, but I was definitely not brave enough to give it a try! She kept eating it until she could feel the little legs poking through the sucker. Then she didn't think it was as good anymore. She kept trying to wipe it off her tongue! Can you tell at what point in the pictures in the montage that was?
After dinner she thought she would give it another try. She kept trying to bite the part of the sucker that was free of the cricket, but it wouldn't break at all for her. She finally gave up and took a bite out of the cricket part. She did okay with it until I pointed out that she had bit the cricket's head off and the head was in her mouth. It was at that point that she really freaked out! She spit the piece of sucker out and then continued to wipe the inside of her mouth! It was really funny! Is that wrong of me?!!
Shawn then had to show her that it was okay and he bit, and ate the rest of the cricket. She did actually ask for the sucker back and ate a little more of it. That Hailey - she is a monkey!
Taylor didn't want to be left out of the fun, and although she really didn't want to, she did take a few licks of the sucker. Who knows, maybe she will try and eat hers! You can believe I will get some pictures of that one!
